WASHINGTON, DC—The National Council for Interior Design Qualification, Inc. (NCIDQ) Executive Director Jeffrey F. Kenney was recognized by the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) for his outstanding service and commitment to the continued growth of AAHID as a certifying body for healthcare interior designers. He received the award from AAHID President Barbara Huelat during the 2008 Healthcare Design conference held in Washington, DC.

"We are delighted to be able to recognize Jeff for his enormous contribution and cooperation with AAHID," says Huelat. "He has been an integral resource over the years and generously shares his invaluable knowledge and experience in credentialing with us."

Kenney serves on the AAHID Advisory Council, where he provides expert consultation on credentialing services. AAHID recognizes the NCIDQ Certificate as the benchmark for interior designers' competence and requires the NCIDQ credential as a prerequisite for the AAHID specialty certification. Founded in 2004, AAHID is the advanced certification for interior designers working in healthcare. AAHID's goal is to transform the healthcare environment into a single source for healthcare interior designers with a passion for healing.

"I am honored to accept this award from such a fine organization," says Kenney. "It is a true pleasure to work with AAHID. Its commitment to employing standards of competence in the healthcare design industry mirrors our own mission of public protection through standards of competence in interior design, and I look forward to continued success in our collaboration over the years."
