NCIDQ Commits to Helping Hurricane Victims Recover; Accommodations for Exam Candidates, Certificate Holders in Place

WASHINGTON, DC -NCIDQ extends its deepest sympathies to all those who have been affected by the devastation from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. NCIDQ's Board is committed to assisting Certificate holders and exam candidates as they recover from the tragedies. Active Certificate holders (those who participate in NCIDQ's record maintenance program) who live or work in these ZIP codes that have been designated disaster areas will not be charged an annual record maintenance fee for the next 12 months:

Louisiana - 700, 701, 702, 703, 704, 705, 706, 707, 708
Mississippi - 390, 391, 392, 393, 394, 395, 396, 397
Alabama - 365, 366
Texas - 759, 770, 771, 772, 773, 774, 775, 776, 777

For Certificate holders whose annual maintenance fee is due in October 2005 or April 2006, NCIDQ will waive it and maintain the record in an active status until the next renewal period. For those Certificate holders who may have already received the form, simply complete the form and mail it back to NCIDQ.

In addition, Certificate holders who live or work in ZIP codes that have been designated disaster areas and who may have lost their certificate as a result of the hurricane, may request a new Certificate and NCIDQ will waive the replacement fee. To request a new Certificate, call the NCIDQ office at (202) 721-0220.

NCIDQ has cancelled the New Orleans test site for the Fall 2005 NCIDQ Examination scheduled for Oct. 14-15. Any candidate who lives or works in a ZIP code that has been designated a disaster area may request a cancellation. Exam fees paid for the Fall administration will be refunded and cancellation and deferral fees will be waived. The deadline to request a cancellation is Monday, October 10, 2005.

To request a cancellation, complete the Exam Cancellation Form, available on the NCIDQ Web site at www.ncidq.org and fax it to 202-721-0221, attention Peter James. If you cannot download and fax the form, please send a letter to Peter James at NCIDQ with your name, NCIDQ control number if known, current address, e-mail and phone or call 202-721-0220.
