NCIDQ Elects 2008 Board of DirectorsApril 11, 2008 WASHINGTON, DC-The National Council for Interior Design Qualification, Inc. (NCIDQ) announces its Board of Directors for 2008. The Board, made up primarily of interior designers, ensures NCIDQ's mission of protecting the health, life safety and welfare of the public by establishing standards of competence in the practice of interior design is upheld. There are eight Directors, including a President, President-Elect, Past President, four Directors and one Public Member. The President, President-Elect and Past President each serve a one-year term for each position and are elected by NCIDQ's Council of Delegates. All other Directors are elected to serve two-year terms by the Delegates. The 2008 NCIDQ President is Sandra Friend, an interior designer from Ashland, Oregon. She precedes the President-Elect, Deborah Steinmetz, an interior designer from New Orleans, Louisiana. California interior designer Jan Bast is the 2008 Past President. Serving with them are the four interior designers: Patty Blaser (New Jersey), Carol Jones (British Columbia), Suzy Regitz (Illinois) and Ernest Rhoads (Washington), as well as the Public Member, Beth Holst (Virginia). NCIDQ® is an organization of regulatory boards and provincial associations in the United States and Canada whose core purpose is to protect the health, life safety and welfare of the public by establishing standards of competence in the practice of interior design.
